Well, Dwight, just as most Americans are Christian, you could logically conclude that most people who watch tv are Christian. And that most murderers in prison identify themselves as Christian, also, when they enter, not just after some of them are "born again". Christianity is particularly popular in the lower classes, and because of a complex of factors, most criminals are poor.
The last time you started talking about the relationship between religious beliefs and criminal behavior I did a web search, and found about twenty sources giving these causative factors for crime: lack of attachment to parents, instability of home during childhood, being physically or sexually abused, or neglected, failure in school, poverty and a couple of others, depending on the source. But not one of them, encompassing the sites on several search engines, mentioned religious beliefs at all.
Can you produce some statistic proving that most Americans are NOT Christian? I am sure I can find one that proves that most are, but I am cooking dinner and don't have time to do research at the moment. |
