Hi Ron ! Remember back in December ? We had a long discussion on this subject titled " So You Wanna Become a Stock Broker ?" I believe you were absent from class that day formulating Saddam Invasion contingency plans at McDill AFB, Florida. Bid /Ask Price ? Lets look at todays bid / ask size on TRIBY today . most of the day it appeared as 50 X 15 which relates to 5000 shares being "bid for " and 1500 shares being "offered". In other words one or more buyers is "sitting on the Bid ", and today he left his bid there most of the day looking to BUY MORE shares. In general, a larger " bid size " than an " ask size " means in the short term, there are more BUYERS than sellers and thus more upward pressure on the stock. Again, this is only a rough guide on the NASDAQ since more than one Market maker may sit on the bid or the ask meaning several M&M's could be " good" for a lot more than 5000 shares on the buy side or 1500 on the sell side since it is often impossible to know what is being offered out there. ~~~ Totally Confused now ? ~~~~
