TTOSBT - Re: "and the DOJ is coming down on Intel! Go figure. " Many M & A guys will profit from a CitiCorp/Traveler's Merger so my bet is that the FTC will approve it. After all - it will be good for shareholders and customers - right? Especially after they lay off about 20% of the combined company. As for Intel - why does America need a strong, successful, profitable leader in semiconductors? Better to have a bunch of sawed-off "Clones-R-Us" pygmies running around selling their products below costs - so that the Japanese or Koreans can move back in and take over our semiconductor manufacturing . The Japanese and Koreans are currently hurting and our government needs a convenient way to help them out - so why not come down on Intel in a big way? After all, Intel employees don't vote or pay taxes. Paul
