re: is it the time to buy INTC now for long term or I should wait for more price decline ?

David:

Nobody can say with certainty. But I would wait. I sold my INTC at $86/shr and when it went to $95 I wished I hadn't, but now I'm glad I sold. I still have my MSFT, but I am contemplating selling.

I think the market overall is very high. The S&P is up over 12% just this first qtr despite S & P earnings increasing only 1.8%. The market has outpaced earnings for several of the past years. Declining interest rates have been cited as justification for the high multiples. But sooner or later earnings will matter. Luckily I have stayed invested throughout this bull run, but I am starting to get concerned.

I have been a INTC bull. Last Jan when INTC was below 70 I said I thought INTC would hit 85 by April (see reply 43370) it did and I sold at $86. But IBM/AMD and NSM/Cyrix are going to cause more trouble for INTEL. INTC will continue to outclass AMD and NSM, but they will also have to respond with more price cuts.
