This is a great topic.

I agree that when you "look, think and get a sense of a stock" you do best.

Sometimes all the news and advice seems like a herd of stampeding horses running through my mind, stirring up a lot of dust. None of these type of thoughts feel right.

Yet under this chaos I sometimes have thoughts, perhaps based on a statement I've heard, that are lighter, yet feel clearer and feel correct. Perhaps I hear a statement by a company VP that earnings will be pretty good, and it's just obvious to me he is being straightforward and his prediction will be correct.

It's easy to let that little intuition -- that one piece of clarity -- be bulldozed by all the amped up opinions and confused emotions that hit me in all the news and opinions I read.

I try to follow a stock until I gather enough of the thoughts that feel clear and right to be able to make a decision. That's rare, but when it happens the trade almost feels like a sure shot.
