ROPER RESOURCES ENTERS INTO NEGOTIATIONS WITH SAFE ENVIRONMENT
ENGINEERING

VANCOUVER, April 6 /CNW/ - Roper Resources Inc.
Trading Symbol: RRN (ASE)
Richard Watson, President of Roper Resources Inc. (RRN: ASE) is pleased
to announce that the Company has entered into negotiations with Safe
Environment Engineering, a California Limited Partnership, with a view to form
a relationship between the two companies.
Safe Environment Engineering is headquartered in Valencia, California, 25
miles north of downtown Los Angeles. The Company develops and supplies
communications systems, which integrate wireless telemetry to transmit
information. The Company uses this technology in its patented Life-line(TM)
systems, which, in one version, enables monitoring of entrants into confined
spaces or hazardous locations; and, in other configuration, monitors security
personnel on patrol rounds.
The products of Safe Environment Engineering meet the strictest standards
and requirements of various national and international regulatory bodies
including (CSA) Canadian Standards Association, (UL) Underwriters
Laboratories, and (FEDOSHA) Federal Occupational Safety and Health
Administration relating to ''confined spaces.'' The value of the marketplace
for the Life-line(TM) System is considerable and the Company forecasts multi
million dollar sales for its fiscal year 1998, which is the first year out of
Research & Development. Existing installations of the Life-line(TM) system
are located at the Northrup Grumman facility, Palmdale, California; Tinker Air
Force Base, Del City, Oklahoma; Pearl Harbour Naval Shipyard, Honolulu,
Hawaii; and, Hill Air Force Base at Layton, Utah. Recently, Star Oil Company
of Beaumont, Texas acquired the Life-line(TM) system on the basis of a
short-term rental. The system was utilized to monitor the safety of oil
refinery personnel throughout the duration of a major maintenance shutdown.
Safe environment considers this rental to be the first example of a
significant marketplace expected within the oil refinery business.
Production is well underway to fill a recently placed order received from
The Boeing Company of Seattle, Washington, for employment in their aircraft
manufacturing facility in Everett, Washington.
Further information about the products of Safe Environment Engineering
