NEWS RELEASE - APRIL 7, 1998
KELSO TECHNOLOGIES INC. (VSE:KLS)

KELSO'S BREAKTHROUGH SAFETY TECHNOLOGY GIVEN GREEN LIGHT

COMPANY POISED TO THRIVE IN THE $1 BILLION GLOBAL MARKET
FOR SAFETY RELIEF VALVES

April 7, 1998, Vancouver, BC- President & CEO of Kelso Technologies Inc., Stephen L. Grossman, is pleased to announce that the Association of American Railroads (AAR) has approved the Company's innovative Safety Relief Valve technology for immediate installation on rail tank cars for service trials under real road conditions.

"This is by far the most significant milestone for Kelso to date," Mr. Grossman said, "as an event that recognizes the hard work that our team has dedicated to achieving this goal."

"The safety standards for relief valves set by the AAR are among the toughest in any industry, which we feel attests to the high caliber of Kelso's valve technology."

Kelso has already successfully met and exceeded the AAR's performance requirements in official testing of its JS75 SRV technology late last year. The AAR will now evaluate the effectiveness of Kelso's JS75 SRV on real tank cars under the one year non-hazardous service trial and the two year hazardous service trial. Thirty valves will be installed on tank cars travelling across North America, five valves will be removed at random for inspection after the one year and the remaining 25 valves will stay on the tank cars for the second year.

Safety Relief Valves prevent potentially devastating explosions by rapidly expelling the contents of a tank car in emergency situations to reduce internal pressure build-up.

Kelso's JS75 SRV is the most significant innovation in its field in decades - and is about to dramatically improve the safety of transporting hazardous gases (such as sulfuric acid or chlorine gas) and non-hazardous pressurized materials while at the same time reducing tank car maintenance costs.

The JS75 SRV offers an efficient and cost-effective alternative to the current industry standard "poppet"-type valve. Technologically advanced, the JS75 SRV can expel a tank car's contents in three forms (vapor, liquid and foam) at a greater flow rate than the current "poppet"-type valve for 75 pound general purpose tank cars.

Kelso now stands to capture a significant share of the estimated $1 billion global market for Safety Relief Valves by modifying the JS SRV technology for applications in other industries including the marine, trucking, pipeline, boiler pressure and petroleum sectors.
