Haven't seen ABX's most recent financial results but I suspect that ABX is short calls not long calls. They are more than likely looking to earn some extra premium via options. If they get called away they just roll the position into a forward. This is not unique to ABX. I suspect there has been alot of call granting by producers. This will provide the gold market with some good targets. Greg
