CCI from 9 to 180, I remember when CCI officials were begging for foreign capital (especially Saudis) to rescue them during the S$L crisis. One reason they got them to that mess was their sheer size and later they started downsizing and spun off non-banking entities to make them profitable again!. But look at CITY again how fast they are forgetting their lessons and are repeating the same mistake again. With the Asian crisis and deterioration of giant Japanese banks operating similar to the prpopsed future model of CITIGROUP I do not know how they could sell this to the hopeful investors.
The increase in CCI market cap yesterday alone is counting for many years of TRV future profits and the complexity of merging the two
different cultures even if legislation allows this would make this a huge task if not impossible.
I Prefer to take the cash now and exit rather than wait to see the big fish sell their huge stock options and the promise of a global bank.
