International Road Dynamics (IRD) Announces Success -
Teleride Division

SASKATOON, SASKATCHEWAN--International Road Dynamics Inc. (IRD)
announced today that its Teleride Division has recently been
awarded an $880,259 (USD) project to supply an Automated Dispatch
System to the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority
(MARTA), in Atlanta, GA.

The Automated Dispatch System for MARTA will be a customized
version of IRD Teleride's TeleDriver(TM) System. TeleDriver(TM)
is one of several products in Teleride's enhanced suite of
integrated products for the Windows NT(TM) platform.

This TeleDriver(TM) System will provide automated functionality to
better manage the 1,500 bus and rail operators that operate from
MARTA's six garages. The system was selected to meet MARTA's
objectives to "automate the dispatch setup, daily dispatch,
operator pay calculation, markup, attendance, and discipline
process and to provide a method to manage safety and training,
contract simulations, and productivity feedback".

IRD President and CEO Terry Bergan comments, "This sale, combined
with several other recent sales, is a strong indication of the
positive direction that is now being realized from IRD's
investment in the Teleride Division. Over the past year we have
invested in the software and the systems development in the
Teleride Division to develop a family of software products for the
Transit and Fleet Management markets. Over the next two quarters
these new products are being released."

Truck monitoring system for Saskatchewan

International Road Dynamics Inc IRDShares issued 108614201998-03-27 close $1.35Tuesday Mar 31 1998Mr Terry Bergan reports The company has recently completed a partnership agreement for the provision of an automated truck monitoring system. This new system will incorporate Global Positioning System tracking with cellular or satellite communications for vehicle tracking and fleet management. Titled the Vehicle Partnership Program, the system permits the highway authority to invoice participants based on actual road usage, provide the information to distribute revenue to appropriate jurisdictions, and reduce administrative burden and costs to both the province and participating trucking companies. The agreement is with the province of Saskatchewan. This shadow tolling project is another innovative application of GPS technology by IRD. GPS is particularly advantageous when tracking vehicles in large geographic areas. This service will be developed over the next 14 months and the development costs will be paid for by the customer during the first phase of the project. Thereafter, trucking companies will be charged according to road usage and will pay a monthly service charge. IRD will provide the system and services to the province, on a full-service basis. The agreement is renewable after three years, and the province has guaranteed orders creating a significant long term contract for IRD.
