Bay Networks Appoints New Vice President of Worldwide Customer Service; Bill Ferone to Head Customer Service Organization Worldwide

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 7, 1998--Bay Networks(R), Inc. (NYSE:BAY) today announced the appointment of Bill Ferone as Vice President, Customer Service, Worldwide for Bay Networks. In this new position, Ferone will lead the effort to raise Bay Networks' worldwide customer service to new levels of excellence. Ferone will report directly to Dave Shrigley, Executive Vice President of Marketing, Sales and Service for Bay Networks. Bay Networks' customer service and support is already recognized as a world class organization, with operation centers in North America, Europe and Asia providing 7x24 service to customers worldwide. Ferone's charter will be to lead the organization into the next phase of development -- building a best of breed organization unparalleled across any industry.
