Faroudja Inc. Announces Tribune Broadcasting Alliance
Deployment of Faroudja's Digital Format Translator for TV Station Group Owner
SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--April 7, 1998--NAB Conference, Booth No. M5838--Faroudja Inc. (Nasdaq/NM:FDJA - news) Tuesday announced that Tribune Broadcasting has signed a letter of intent to test, evaluate and reserve for purchase a number of Faroudja's new Digital Format Translators from its Video Solutions line.
The Digital Format Translator provides a range of modular solutions for the delivery of a variety of digital television (DTV) and high-definition television (HDTV) video formats to help clients provide new digital television services.
Tribune Broadcasting, owned by Tribune Co. (NYSE:TRB - news), owns and operates 16 major market television stations and has FCC approval pending on stations in Seattle and Grand Rapids, Mich. Tribune Entertainment, a subsidiary of Tribune Broadcasting, develops, produces and syndicates first-run television programming.
Tribune Broadcasting's stations are affiliated with The WB Television Network, FOX, ABC and CBS.
