CORRECTION / UPDATE on CSFB "affiliate" status

Speaking with CSFB this AM, they did not know of any "affiliate" that this refered to, nor what an "affiliate" might exactly mean. The assumptive interpretation was that this MAY have been some private financing by an entity that simply used CSFB as their clearing agent.

Further CSFB inquiry determined that such an entity would NOT likely be able to represent itself in this regard as a CSFB "affiliate".

There apparently do exist CSFB employees who are empowered to deploy firm and/or independantly managed capital. (The details are still unclear to me as well as to my CSFB contacts) It is presumed, but not confirmed, that this is likely the case with this CVUS transaction.

As such, since this is (seemingly) not a CSFB commercial product, no details of the transaction are available officially from CSFB, and I have also been so far unsuccessful in getting any "un-official" scuttlebutt. It was suggested that CVUS would be the likely source of this info.

Where does that leave this?

-Fleet seems to have bailed on financing.
-Some "affiliate" of CSFB is now involved, as well as "private" money.
-The terms are unknown, and CVUS seems to continue it's trend of being unforthcoming in the clarification of it's business transactions to it's stockholders.

My apologies for the earlier representation of this financing being at a greater distance from CSFB than it *may* in fact be. While I have no current confirmation of CSFB's involvement other than the press (and contacts at CSFB are equally unavailed), it seems *unlikely* that simply an indepedant client of CSFB's clearing agent services would represent themselves in a public release of this nature as a CSFB "affiliate".

Good luck all.

Steve
