Jim, your analysis makes no sense, because you don't have comparable data for Compaq. For example, the actual build time for Dell machines is measured in hours. The remainder has to do with niceties such as burn-in, QA, shipping, etc. Even if CPQ has everything prebuilt except the motherboard and all the cards that fit into it <VBG!>, it still needs to burn in, and test (unless it plans to build total schlock) and ship the machines.
