Comverse Technology's Network Systems Division Selected to Supply
Enhanced Services Platforms for Voice/Fax Mail in Deutsche Telekom's
Nationwide Wireline Network

WOODBURY, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 6, 1998--Comverse Network Systems, a division of Comverse
Technology Inc. (NASDAQ: CMVT - news), and the world's leading supplier of enhanced services platforms to
telecommunications network operators, today announced it has been selected by Deutsche Telekom to supply systems for
voice/fax mail services to be deployed throughout Germany's wireline network.

Terms were not disclosed.

Deutsche Telekom, Europe's largest telecommunications company and the world's third largest network operator, plans to
offer voice/fax mail throughout its nationwide T-Net wireline network. Included in the expected service offering is a family
mailbox option, in which multiple household members who share a single phone number can each have a personal, private
mailbox.
