The Bible as the Literal Word is the province of "born again" Christians,
Not where I come from.
Neither does any other mainstream Protestant religion.
I think you are wrong there. How about Lutheran? As you may know there is not one "mainstream Lutheran" that I know of. There are hundreds and hundreds, perhaps thousands of individual denominations of Lutheran.
I am actually not aware, no, of how Presbyterians or Baptists view the Bible, and will not attempt to say I do. Nor do I know how Catholics view the Bible.
I do think that Pentacostal and Seventh Day Adventist believe that the Bible is the unadultered word of God. Meaning that it was written by holy men, inspired of God. Therefore, God is the author of the Bible, but he used men to write the words. That's what I believe, and I'm not at all concerned with what "the majority" believe. Are you attempting to exert a little "peer pressure" here? LOL. I'm past my teen years Janice, so I'm not too concerned with peer pressure. My Lutheran denomination has approximately at minimum 10,000-13,000 members world-wide, in many different countries, and we believe that the Bible is the holy inspired word of God. So, I have plenty of company in my beliefs, in case you think I may be a bit lonely here. |
