I've read most of the stuff on the new NC and NetPC. It sounds like there's a market but I'm not absolutely convinced. It seems to be more of a niche for the dumb terminal market (of which there are 30 million) and it seems to me that IBM will benefit the most from these since many are among the FORTUNE 1000, IBM's best customers. For me one of the ironies of all this PR is that a year or two from now will anyone be asking why McNeely was flaking NC's when Compaq making a big run at their bread and butter products? If I was running SUN I'd be putting all my energy into selling workstations and not taking that business for granted. HL
