Intel never said anything to my knowledge about "retail" PC sales. They said demand for their chips was very strong. The retail channel is just one channel. Look at the direct channel. GATE, DELL, MUEI are booming. Any slowdown in retail sales are probably more than offset by other channels. I have bought 4 computers for myself over the last 5 years. I have also helped more than 25 people purchase PC's over that same time period. NONE (zero, zilch, nada) of these systems were bought through the retail channel. So even if Solomon is correct (which I doubt given their agenda) about the retail channel, it does not necessarily contradict anything Intel has said.
