Judy INTC aint as clear cut as all that. Yes they will gain a foot hold in the mid-server market but how much is the question. SUNW and SGI and CPQ etc arent dummies, they also have these experiences. PP's run upto 300MHZ not 200. I am running a dual PP at 240MHZ. The PII's can be clocked up to 450+MHZ! So a lot of things are already in place. The price is the one and only question as well as the margin. Actually I knew sort of where they were going when I was at hp closing down their development cause they were going with intc. I think HP made a mistake but who knows. INTC wont be the big boy just by chomping on the mid-sized bytes and their tactics might remind you of another once great company in the early 80's that fell for 10 years before someone smart enough came in but even he wasnt too smart cause they got killed in both areas.. Think which one that is? :), clue 1.. OS2.
