Caxton, well that provided a little perspective! The idea that some folks really understand this stuff is scary.
Unlike last night's post, here is the result of tonight's NOVA (local PBS channel in SF Bay Area) watching. Subject was technology in the military with real life stuff like Gulf War, Desert Storm, and other fun 'situations'. Essence was that to get a battlefield view, and to launch weapons, only GPS (i.e., satellites)react in time to knock out the other guy's weapons, birds are the ONLY answer.
readware has been arguing for one or two years that investors in satellite/cdma tech are effectively subsidized by the mega-billions previously spent to perfect military goals.
this program made it seem very real. what these little guys can do is beyond normal comprehension. think valueman's posts re: valuing the mighty Q solely with regard to its satellite link (i.e, you get the rest for free just based on Q's ownership of G*)is credible. The NAZ is evidently in one of its suck wind episodes and god knows Ramsey is still on vacation, but I'm getting more comfortable with the Q and CDMA as THE means of linking satellite based communication. These guys are right where they need to be. Mike Doyle
