I spent all day Monday 4/6/98 at NAB in Vegas. The Tektronix booth was strong, with an emphasis on new HDTV production stuff (a master control unit, a router and a cool small switcher, the Grass Valley 110 HD). The quality of the video was superb and the crowds seemed to be impressed. The tek News solutions folks put on a great 30-minute live news broadcast that showed off many Tek products. Also showed were the new Profile 3rd party tools and new video test equipment, including the MPEG system tester. The competition is hot with other guys like Panasonic, Sony, Philips and Leitch also making a pretty good showing in competing areas. -Jay
