Price is the king !!!
If IBM can sell a 300 Mhrz system for $999 to $1500 range, then if the other box makers want to compete, they have to either force Intel to drop its CPU price to match or they will all go to AMD for CPUS, if AMD can supply.

If AMD had really improved its yield on .35 um process, and will increase production substantially for the current quarterwith 0.25 um process, which means
AMD can probably supply the cpus to fill the needs of most box makers, then to
keep the business, INTEL will have to cut price to compete or survive, otherwise
, lost all its business to AMD . This is a cold fact.
