Petz - Re: "All, whats become of Intelmeister Engel? "

I'm here - figuring out how AMD sold 1.5 million K6's for $169 million this past quarter for an ASP of $112.67.

Last quarter they got $203 million for the same amount - for an ASP $135.

ASP's went DOWN as the speed bins went UP! Now that is a fine way to run the business.

AMD lands IBM and Compaq for their new 233 and 266 MHz K6's and ASP's drop 20%.

Did anybody ask Sanders how the yields problems could be fixed but K6 unit shipments were flat?

Oh yeah - the yield improvemenmts weren't realized until the last week of the quarter!

Now at $55 million loss AFTER credits, the P & L actually showed a REAL OPERATING LOSS of $83 Million!

Let's see - assuming AMD was breakeven on their other businesses, they managed to LOSE 83,000,000/1,500,000 or $55 Loss per K6 shipped!

With an ASP of $112.67, that puts their COST at $168 per K6.

Not bad!

Such a small die - such low costs - only $168 to make one little bitty K6!

We're BACK!

We're BACK

The Profits are coming!

Please wait until Q3 ....maybe!
