Quarterdeck Announces Strategic AllianceWith TECO Business Software in Australia; Australian Computer Retailerto Include REALHELP Extra Strength With Every PC

MARINA DEL REY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 8, 1998-- Quarterdeck Corp. QDEK , the world's leading provider of PC helpware solutions, Wednesday announced a strategic alliance with TECO Business Software to distribute Quarterdeck's REALHELP Extra Strength software throughout Australia.

Under the agreement, TECO Business Software, a subsidiary of Taiwan-based TECO Information Systems Co. Ltd., will distribute Quarterdeck's REALHELP Extra Strength exclusively on an OEM basis to end users via its network of Australian computer retail outlets.

Effective immediately, all consumers who purchase PC hardware through TECO's authorized reseller channel will receive a copy of REALHELP Extra Strength with their PC. REALHELP Extra Strength, which prevents, monitors and repairs PC problems and conflicts, is the only software title offered to TECO customers for all hardware marketed by the retailer.
