Hi Harry! Why would you expect "Wall Street" to know better? I've been amazed at the stupid way the people who work in the prestigious investment houses act when they attempt to do business abroad.

The example that comes to mind is when one of the big investment firms, on Wall Street, wanted to set up a business in Indonesia.

Indonesia is run by a despot and his family. If you want to make a financial splash you have to pay one of the despot's children to be a partner in your company.

Did the Wall Street brokerage firm do that? No. They said they were going to make it on their own. They didn't. And they didn't get the bid. Another Wall Street firm that hired one of the tyrant's kids got the contract.

I find it amazing how dumb the rich people who work for the big brokerage houses can be. Evidently, they do not use their money to learn more about the world even if it is only to learn that a greedy despot can exploit a country's natural resources for his and his family's advantage.

I suppose that the reason that some rich Wall Street investors never learn is because they are so arrogant.
