Dear Threaders, The following is from Paracelsian's new and evolving Home Page: Paracelsian continues to improve its Screening Technology in order to increase its efficiency in the identification of favorable effects of chemical compounds. This work, which consists of laboratory-based experiments on living cells, is ongoing. Paracelsian has recently completed the initial screening of its inventory of over nearly 2,800 extracts of herbs used in traditional Chinese medicine ("TCM"). The results of these screens have identified 173 extracts, which were selected based on: (1) the ability of the extract of affect biological function in one or more of its assays: (2)Paracelsian's assessment of the chemical composition, (3) relative bioavailability and toxicity data and (4) the documented historical use of the herbs in TCM. Paracelsian's Screening Technology enables the screening of compounds for promising therapeutic effects faster and with greater precision. I know, it's just potential, potential, potential.
