Bill , stop taking the happy pills and come down to Earth. AOL still will not be able to compete with the local ISP's for one simple reason.

THE AOL INTERNET CONNECTION SUCKS BECUASE YOU HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE LOUSY AOL FRONT END!!!!!!

AOl is fine for AOL stuff but thats it. Forget about the browsing the Web its very lagged via AOL.
I am not talking about the National ISP's I am talking about the established regional ISP' which provide quick , reliable uncensored access. A lot of people who have a local ISP get disk space for their web pages for no extra cost per month. AOL does not , and probably will not provide that service in the forseeable future, and if they did they would charge an arm and a leg for it.
AOL had creative accounting paper profits from a bullshit way of amortizing its marketing costs while showing revenues immedialty.
Now that they are going to correctly match revenues and expenses, you
wont see mcuh profit , and you wont see all those buy rating's from the Analysts. I think its great that AOL is finally going to provide a fair priced hookup , but while thats great for subscribers it will not help the holders of AOL stock.
