Gave this some thought... motivation for this move?? I see two possibilities (and I'm sure there are others):

The ordinary - They have decided to mount a campaign to boost share value by actively marketing their company to the investment community. Not an uncommon occurrence, but not particularly exciting either.

The spectacular - They are positioning themselves for dealing with huge news that will cause the shareholder base to explode. By setting themselves up with outsourced IR, they are preventing, or at least reducing the impact of, the crush of phone calls that is inevitable after major news. This lets them continue more or less with "business as usual" while the outsourced IR handles the bulk of the clamor from shareholders and brokerages.

Naturally I prefer the spectacular (I can dream can't I?), and feel that it is consistent with the rumors that have been flying about this co, but what does everyone else think??
