Facts are here
>>Can you back up any of your statements?<<
The channel checks that you have been doing are exactly the opposite of what I have uncovered. Interesting. Here is a list of 7 stores that I have checked in the last week. I don't want to give away all my sources.
Comp USA--Highland Park, IL--Sparq is currently best seller, few returns, shift in last few months to sparq
Comp usa--Littleton, CO--Sparq is a big seller, ouselling Jaz 100:10 units per month, Sparq easier to use.
Best Buy--Springfield, MO--Sparq is outselling Jaz 2:1 more kids buying sparq,
Comp Usa--NYC 57th & Broadway--Sparq is selling as fast as it gets on the shelf, the jaz comes in larger shipments and both products selling well at these price points.
Montclair, CA--Sparq is outselling Jaz "huge", 10:1, sparq is quieter running than jaz
Framington, MA--Both products selling well, Jaz more popular, Sparq better, more technical get Sparq.
Comp Usa--Lewisville, TX--Can't keep the Sparq in the store. The cartidges are gone as soon as they come in the fund. People come in looking for Jaz, leave with sparq.
>>And just what is focus<< It is selling the Sparq 1 gig product at $199 and trying to ramp this product because its competitor can't compete at this level.
Focus is not having $100 million ad budget, screwing up relationships with OEMs, having sales go from 450m expected to 350m and Firing CEO who 1 month earlier recieved option plan and support from board.
>>200 million investment only got 250,000 drives<< They have got a huge ramp, they have great price point, they have enormous demand, and they have access to capital.
>>I'm glad to see that your looking at P/S for SYQT IOM: Revenues $1.74, Market Cap 1.7 Billion, P/S ratio of .98<<
The Iomega revenue number you use is a bit, um...high and wrong. Let's assume 350 qtr on annualized basis, so 1.3 billion with sales slipping and gross margins falling. Not to mention that thier oem relationships are in danger.
>>Stranger things have happened<<
Yep.
The market is growing for removable storage, they can both exist if they produce good products. Execution is the key for both companies.
Hank
PS Coley-- I would love it if you could give me your channel data and sales assumptions of Zip, Jaz, Jaz 2, ditto to get to 1.7 billion in sales |
