The notion that there was some sentient being or beings directly responsible for the creation of the universe is not at odds with my statement regarding the fabrication of man-made gods. I haven't made any assumptions about what form the creator(s) might take. As far as the characterization of historical belief systems, they're patently ridiculous. In other words, their ignorant and asinine on the face of it. One should expect a certain level of frustration when attempting to reason with the irrational and child-like arguments of babbling cult members. That comes with the territory but it inevitably gives way to a sympathy for those trapped in a fantasy land of their own making. Aside from the obvious death and destruction these cults are responsible for throughout the ages, the toll on the mental health of those who entrap themselves in that make-believe world is truly of tragic proportions.
