I think there are numerous references to seventy. There a number of references to 70 weeks. Jesus sent seventy servants out. He told the Apostle Peter that he should forgive his brother not seven times, but 70 times seven.

Disclaimer: I don't think that the Bible is a "riddle" book, but much more than that and truths are made plain, but increased understanding comes from increased study not looking for codes, etc. FWIW.
