* NEWS * "PDG Environmental, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: PDGE - news) announced today it has been awarded a multi-year, cost reimbursable contract by GPU Energy and GPU Service Inc. GPU Energy is comprised of Metropolitan Edison Company [OTC BB:MPLEL - news], Pennsylvania Electric Company [OTC BB:PAELL - news] and Jersey Central Power & Light Company. Initial funding under the contract is in excess of $2 Million. The contract covers all service facilities operated by GPU Energy and GPU Service throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The first task release under the contract has already began and will be completed by June 1998...."
