GOOD NEWS ON SIII- dljdirect.com

FRANKFURT, April 7 - German car parts maker SAI
Automotive AG SAIGc.F SAIG.F SAIGb.F said on Tuesday net
profit edged up to 41.0 million marks in 1997 from 40.8 million
marks the year before, but profit should rise significantly this
year. Sales last year surged 46 percent to 2.49 billion marks at
the company which is 64.24 percent owned by France's Sommer
Allibert SMAP.PA.

Speaking at the company's annual news conference, SAI
SIII.MI Chairman Marc Assa said modest profit growth this year
was due to start-up costs at new facilities and development of
new products. He said the company would see a "significant recovery in its yearly result" this year and clearly faster growth in 1999 and
2000. The company also said it expected sales to grow to 3.4
billion marks this year before the pace of growth slows in 1999
and 2000. The company said that in light of an already completed
capital increase it was now ready to list its shares on the MDAX
index for middle-sized German companies.
