I agree it's rather depressing. Instead of pouring over the lastest quarterly financials or posting portions of conversations any of us may have had w/ knowledgable people w/in or outside the co., we get this garbage. I'm not ready to wave the white flag yet on SI yet, though. My experiences in various threads have been very educational and insightful. Unfortunately in the $5 and Under forum, you do get a lot of speculators hoping to make a quick buck. When things don't go their way, a lot of them decide that the co.'s are ripping them off, not blaming the market or possible poor (none?) research done prior to buying a particular stock. I don't think for a moment that threads like this one exist only to promote one stock or another, but if negative statements are made about a co. or its mgmt., there should be some factual basis. Our buddy RMS decided to try to cast a pall over KLOC, not bothering to bring any facts, figures, or meaningful thoughts to the table. That doesn't seem appropriate to me at all, as it appears that he obviously has an axe to grind.
