I wonder if some of us might want to take another look at the situation and players in this game. One of the questions posed in the previous post is concerning the roll Sega might be playing here. There was mention of there being little background in Indian gaming with Sega, and to add my own observation, Tom seems to have little experience in this area also. Both players, AGT (specifically TOM) and Sega have strong ties to Vegas and casino play. Both players, AGT and Sega are rumored to be locating in Vegas. Both players, AGT and Sega have histories of developing and instituting new gaming products, not to mention Sega's success with games for the retail (home) market. Both players, AGT and Sega have signed a letter of intent to create a JV with the focus on Sonic Bingo, however they have not stated that this is not the only product in development. And finally, both players, AGT and Sega seem to have a lot riding on this JV. Considering Tom's history with new product development and implimentation, as well as Sega's, one might wonder what else in in the works and how much of their focus will be on the Sonic issue. Speaking as a guy who's been in the business environment for quite a number of years, if I woke up one day and one of my competitors was teaming up with a company of Sega's stature, was opening offices in the same region, and had brought in a man of Tom's caliber to head things up, I would have to wonder...what's going on? And I certainly would be, to say the least, a little worried. Just a few thoughts here on my part and I may be completely off base here, but.... |
