I find it kind of interesting that the Mpact3 now
contains a "DVD engine". After the initial hype
that a mediaprocessor could do it all in software,
there seems to be a slow admission that this is
less true in reality - the Mpact2 added a 3-D
pipeline, now the Mpact3 adds a DVD pipeline.

Given that Chromatic is refocusing their high
end on 3D and DVD, they are starting to look
more and more like a graphics accelerator,
and less and less like a mediaprocessor :)
