AOL , in my opinion, is a monopoly and has no competition
Not sure I entirely agree. Every search engine company, MSFT, and NSCP are potential competitors. I like Pittman, but it's not a slam dunk.
As for EGRP, the longterm chart is intact and pointing northeast, today's action notwithstanding. I would not want to be short, much as I may be inclined to agree with your competitive analysis.
I'm too new to AMZN to understand its business model. I looked at the acess (sp?) site you mentioned in an earlier post and found erroneous and misleading information concerning Barnes and Noble's pricing. It calculated B&N price at list (0% discount). I figure this may be because B&N may employ software prohibiting acess intelligent agents from comparing their prices (certainly not a competitive practice, and onr the FTC would probably be most interested in, if true). In any case, the book's price as listed was some $7 above the actual price I paid B&N, so Acess' list is misleading, to say the least. If this is retaliation by Acess, I'd have to say "two wrongs don't make a right". The proper form of retaliation is to alert the FTC to the practice of preventing price comparisons by intelligent agents, not distributing misleading info about their prices.
