To Alpha Testers:

Here is the results of my testing today.

1) Applet works like a champ using HotJava under Solaris. However, its use of CPU resource seems very high compared to a similar Java app quoter (Bullsession). Compared to Bullsession, the Datek streamer seems more "realtime" by 1-2 seconds. This could be internet lag, but I doubt it. The Datek streamer also updates more often which is nice, and may explain the CPU resource usage.

2) Applet does not work with standard Netscape 4.05 download under Win95. I believe this is a Java 1.1 support issue and is discussed on the streamer web page.

3) Applet does work with the standard IE4.01 download under win95.

Observations:
1) The server was inaccessible at times during the day.
2) Obviously need to be able to remember the quote list.
3) Need to be able to remove a ticker.
4) Under IE4.01, if I minimize the ticker to the task bar, then maximize it, the quote list is "blanked" out. Can get it back by making font smaller or larger.

Conclusion:
All in all a good start. I assume each day we will see bugs fixed and features added.
