Bob E and I went to the annual meeting today. My short summary would be, this is more of a long term hold, because the company's got some really big ideas, but it runs very lean and there just won't be lots of revenue coming in for a while.

The longer summary is that Mike Budd, Charles Palm, et al look to be a competent and animated crew, and if even a small part of their dreams happens, the company could be huge. They're in discussions with real computer companies like IBM and SUN, gaming chip makers like nVidia, museums like the Smithsonian, and some medical consortium. Might as well aim high. Some of their recent financing is by doctors and dentists who like the applications the RVR suite enables. Their shortfall in financing this year has only been a temporary hiccup, they think, and they're hoping to get the rest of their money within the next couple of months. The money they managed to raise last year, $1M instead of $5M, paid for last year but now they need more. They're certain they'll get it, and without damaging the stock pool too badly - about 1/2 raised through capital investment, and the other 1/2 through stock.

Then they showed some demos, and they were pretty good. They're relying on the old blue and red glasses for seeing the 3-D effects, but only because it's the cheapest solution for the individual consumers. Their 3D rendering and optical measurement and other tools were quite impressive. They also now hold some patents that all by themselves could make us all rich someday if Hi-Def TV ever becomes a reality, especially if anyone ever wants 3D hi def tv. The compression they get to minimize file and flow size is quite amazing.

Anyway, the whole thing was pretty impressive. I see this as a long term hold, with the company growing really big someday. I'm not putting next month's food budget in it, just $$ that can sit there for a while. It's a crap shoot, but I sure liked the team.
