Rainier, Just received this info today on ISIS, FWIW: ISIS PHARMACEUTICALS continues its research and development work on anti-sense compounds, proven effective in treating a variety of cancers and eye diseases. The company has now been cited by DARPA, the Defense Department advanced research program, for developing products that may be effective against viral and other diseases capable of being spread by biological terrorism.ÿ This application would create significant demand for what otherwise might be very esoteric drugs with limited commercial potential.ÿ The announcement is seen as an attempt to generate more interest in the work being done by ISIS.ÿ Hope this helps a little.
