I checked up on the new Ward Systems update site (http://www.ward.net) and I noticed that there is a new version of NS Trader due next week. It is version 1.4, and it supports a number of enhancements, many of which I was hoping for. The most useful from what I can see is the new combination prediction line. I don't really know what to call it, but basically it combines all the out of sample walk-forward tests from the historical testing so that you see a single indicator line. This means if you train a net and have 5 walk-forwards, the indicator will show the predictions from the 5 individual nets during their respective out of sample periods. Boy that sounds complicated! :)

Suffice to say it is a GREAT feature, and one that lends much more credability to any backtesting. You can now see how a net works out of sample, even after it has been retrained. Very useful.

They also fixed a number of minor bugs and made a bunch of cosmetic upgrades. For example, dialog boxes will now keep their size when you resize them. They fixed one of my biggest gripes! :)

This weekend I should have some time and i'm going to work on a new net to trade Newbridge Networks on the TSE. This thing bounces around and should be a good candidate for the nets.
