You have much more experience in this field than I have.

From what I have been able to gather, I ask myself, how close vents along a fault on the ocean floor would occur. As most who have looked into geology even a little know, areas that are now the middle of continents once were part of the ocean floor. (Saskatchewan might be a good example)
