Mr. Goldstone was phenomenal. I watched his speech at the National Press Club, very smart and well done speech. IMO, this was a very bold move, and has resulted in Congress' showing that there is tremendous contention over this issue. Suddenly, the McCain Bill, which looked like law of the land last week in the press, gets ambushed on all fronts.

Tobacco is no longer fighting simply for tobacco and smokers, IMO. It is fighting the fight we all wish we could. It is the most heavily taxed industry in the U.S., its getting screwed by the federal government, it is attacked by law suits at any time -- sound familiar? It resembles the average American... We are heavily taxed, we don't see direct results from Congress or the President, and it seems like anyone can sue anyone for almost anything.

I think tobacco is fighting for individuals rights, and I will stand behind them all the way.
