Sorry for being away for so long... COMS has me kinda feeling green with nausea.. :Q
The only backlash I have seen in the real world, is that with the drugs affected, mostly Clorazepate (Tranxene) the price is so incredibly high now, that the patients are either going to the brand, or changing to another generic, as was mentioned before.
Just forcing Mylan off the formulary does nothing, just causes the patient to go to another drug. Their was a great article this month in "Drug Store Review" ( dont quote me ), on Mylans new pricing, as well as other generic drug makers. They feel that this will be the year that generic drug makers will push that enough is enough, and start to push drug prices higher, they just need a drummer to follow.
Remember.. MOST of these generic makers are spin offs, or directly owned by a brand name company.. btw, ever wonder why a brand name company almost NEVER lowers their price to compete with a new generic? Me too.. It seems that the brand name companies could just crush the generic makers by lowering their prices to compete.. BUT they own their own generic company, so why should they ???
Ok, enough rambling for now, its late... :)
Waiting for earnings this month with much anticipation... Go those July 20 calls !!!
