Writer's Block

With painted words and simple rhyme
I search to find some key
A poem that would say it all
Expressing all that's me.
One verse of awful beauty
Is all I seek to find
And yet the words refuse to come
From out my addled mind...

{I'm thinking ... Drinking ... Linking vowels
Wishing ... Swearing ... Emptying bowels
Loving ... Leaving ... Breaking hearts
A moment's hope ... one more false start...}

The pen is dry, the mind is too
Hoping that the words come through
is pointless,
wasted time.
