The guess is the 300 Mhrz K6 will sell for $80 , instead of $150, and the volume will be huge, and all box makers place their orders for k6 300 and 333 Mhrz big time.
For INTEL, it will have to drop the price of its PII 400 Mhrz to $100 to compete, or
run the risk of losing its market shares big time.
AMD will finally bought out either by IBM or CPQ. The time for either of the above to buy out AMD is when the market shares of either of them reachs the threshold point of 30%, which is about 30000000 units of CPU based on 1998's world market.
