On Ted Turner giving "stocks of value" you may be overlooking that he is gaining much more from tax savings than what he is giving.

Ted or anybody for that matter, gets to claim the inflated price of the stocks that he is giving as a charitable contribution. You can shelter a lot of income from taxation by doing that. The notion that Ted Turner is giving anything away is totally wrong, as he is saving many times over in taxes for "those gifts given with huge unrealized capital gains"!

You can be sure that he gives company stock away and not cash!
