Maybe, but Sun's superior engineering hasn't materialized with Java
yet. The Java road has been anything but smooth. Examples of
disappointments include AWT, HotJava, JavaOS, and potentially the
delayed Hotspot VM technology.

The Sun NC hardware is uninspiring compared to the continual hype of
system on a chip architectures proposed by Gilder and recently
announced by NSM.
