James, >What do the polls show on Prop 211?<

Article in the San Jose Mercury News this morning said "polls" have NO on 211 back out in front. Didn't say by how much, or who was polled. Article also said that about 180 companies have contributed $$ against it, many of course from Silicon Valley. Interesting to note that, from out of the area, TI (TXN) contributed some significant amount (forget how much) and Federal Express, also non-Cal, has contributed. Last key point I remember was that more $$ has been spent against 211 than on any other measure ever on the California ballot!

I don't know how many of you have seen the ads for or against 211 on TV, but, the FOR ones have mostly been showing old folks wringing their hands because some corporate crooks have frauded them out of their life savings. The AGAINST crowd has been calling this "exploiting" senior citizens. Well, last night, I saw one that used senior citizens in an "AGAINST" ad. The NO contingency is going all out, even using the opposition's ideas!
