Hi John,

(Speaking from the perspective of East Coast Development) My
impression is that the attrition has neither become worse nor
improved. Most of the folks who have left have been drawn in
by startups rather than fleeing Bay. So, the attrition becomes
more dependant upon what is happening with that startups than
Bay. In addition, there are startups which have been Bay spinouts
(ex. Argon). Clearly, I can not speak for what may or may not
be happening on the West Coast, but I find the "disgruntled friends"
opinion a bit overstated.
